Curriculum

The Purpose and Aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. The EYFS is mandatory for all schools and early years providers in Ofsted registered settings attended by young children – that is children from birth to the end of the academic year in which the child has their fifth birthday. If your child begins their learning journey with us building blocks will be laid and the foundations will be completed in their first year at school. We work closely with both the local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for all our children. If you are at all unsure then please don’t hesitate to ask us!

Our Vision Statement

SAFE HAPPY READY TO LEARN

At Danbury Pre-School we strive to provide a caring and stimulating environment. We prioritise children’s well-being and focus on building relationships. We follow the child’s needs and interests. We get involved with children’s play, get silly and engage in their roleplay and games when invited. We curiously explore the outdoor world and learn, via first hand experiences, about the world around us. We encourage co-operative play that lays the foundations of social skills and social development. We problem solve, use tools to develop skills, we snuggle up with books and are always singing. The basis of our teaching is our knowledge of child development and placing the child’s best interests at the forefront of the pre-school day.
